Quería compartir con ustedes este proyecto desarrollado durante mi Residencia Artística en Ne' Na' Contemporary Art Space (Monfai Cultural Centre) en Chiang Mai, Tailandia. Estuve un poco más de un mes ahí este año yendo al Mercado Central y pintando lo que veía. Muchas gracias a los increíbles artistas que conocí en el transcurso de mi residencia en Chiang Mai y a mi amiga Jeannette Castioni quien fue la mejor compañera de casa y también mostró su trabajo en la AiR April 2017 Exhibition en Chiang Mai... son una inspiración y disfruté mucho nuestras conversaciones y el intercambio cultural que salió de ellas. Muchas gracias también a Chiang Mai Art Gallery por hacer un lindo video de nuestra exposición en Monfai Cultural Centre. Espero que les guste también el video que hice sobre el proceso creativo de este proyecto. "The Central Market Project" busca mostrar la pintoresca actividad que toma lugar en el Mercado Central de Chiang Mai en Tailandia a través de la acuarela.

Just wanted to share with you guys this project developed during my Artist Residency at Ne'Na' Contemporary Art Space (Monfai Cultural Centre) in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I spent a bit over a month there this year going to the Central Market and painting the surroundings. Special thanks to all of the amazing local artists that I met in the process of my residency in Chiang Mai and my friend Jeannette Castioni who was the best housemate and also showed her work at the AiR April 2017 Exhibition in Chiang Mai.... you are all inspiring artists and I really enjoyed our conversations and the cultural exchange that came out of it! Also special thanks to Chiang Mai Art Gallery for making a very nice video of our exhibition at the Monfai Cultural Centre. I hope you like this video and the one I made of the process behind the making of "The Central Market Project".
"The Central Market Project" intends to show the vivacious and colorful activity that takes place at Chiang Mai's Central Market. From early hours in the morning the movement starts and the merchandise is out. Corn, t-shirts , frogs, mangos and snails join the crowds of people buying, selling, chopping and cooking. The smells, the noises and colors fill the cluttered space. These watercolor paintings express the movement through the colors and bring out the emotion in the middle of the ordinary. They shift your focus to a renewed point of view.
